The Dallas Cowboys' 4-year playoff drought is over as Tony Romo led the way with 4 passing TDs as they thrashed the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 yesterday. This was a huge win for Dallas and Romo personally since together they had a history of epic December failures. Since the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Washington Redskins on Saturday, this Cowboys victory locked up the NFC East crown for them. It got even better for Romo yesterday as he broke Cowboys' QB-legend Troy Aikman's franchise record for passing yards. Romo ended the game with a career total of 32,971 passing yards... not too shabby for a quarterback who has almost no playoff success to hang his hat on. I'm not making any predictions, but this year might just be the year that the Cowboys shine in the playoffs... up until they have to face a team like Seattle or Green Bay that is!
As the NFL playoffs continue to take shape, there were a couple of teams yesterday that either completely ended any chance of keeping their playoff hopes alive or at least put one foot in the playoff grave. The Buffalo Bills are now missing the playoffs for the 15th year in a row as they couldn't take down a suddenly surging Oakland Raiders team. The Raiders started off the season 0-10 but have now won 3 of their last 5 games. Either way, this is still unacceptable for a Bills team that was (8-6) with two games to go. Buffalo missed out on giving their city and fans something to finally get excited about as they enter the last week of the season. It was not going to be easy for them to make the playoffs regardless as they take on the New England Patriots next week, but now... they simply have no shot at getting in. NOBODY circles the playoff-less wagon, quite like the Buffalo Bills. But on the bright side, at least they showed some signs this season of being a legit team. Next year can't come soon enough!
Quote the (Baltimore) Ravens... nevermore! How can a team like the Baltimore Ravens, while fighting for their playoff lives, lose to a Houston Texans team who was essentially starting their 4th-string QB in Case Keenum? Houston was missing QBs Ryan Mallett, Ryan Fitzpatrick AND Tom Savage due to injury... yet the Ravens couldn't win this game. That my friends... is pretty bad. In my opinion, they don't deserve to make the playoffs and they probably won't.
Speaking of teams most likely not going to get into the playoffs, how about them Kansas City Chiefs? They've now lost 4 out of their last 5 games including a 20-12 crushing defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday. Teams are supposed to be on the rise as they enter into the playoffs... not limping in. Surprisingly, the Chiefs still have a slim chance to get into the postseason but they will now have to beat the San Diego Chargers next week and have a bunch of teams ahead of them lose.... doesn't look too promising. Just throwing it out there... playoff chances seem pretty dead in Arrowhead!
Being a Patriots fan, it would have been a real kick to the nuts yesterday if the PATS didn't end up winning by the smallest of margins in a 17-16 victory over the horrible JETS. That is now the 2nd time this year that the powerful Patriots almost lost to the "Mean Green". It was probably Rex Ryan's final home game coaching the JETS and he'll finish the upsetting season next week with one last stint on the sidelines. Since New England is the team that I've been cheering on for most of my life, it's delightful for me to rip on the Jets. But with that said, a certain tip of the cap has to be made in Rex Ryan's direction for how hard he has always gotten his team to play against the PATS. Ryan's JETS have basically never had the talent that their rival a few hours north has had, yet they've always made it a game and many times left with the win. His JETS have always pressured Tom Brady all game long and many times have made the Golden Boy look mortal. Rex Ryan will not be unemployed for long!
And on a final note, Michael Con-Vick has recently said that he thinks troubled Florida State QB Jameis Winston is the "future of the NFL". That is an interesting statement coming from a "class act" like Con-Vick. I'm sure Winston reminds Vick a little of himself.... a quarterback coming out of college with a ton of talent who can't seem to stay out of trouble. If Jameis Winston truly is the "future of the NFL" then boy oh boy is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell going to be busy over the next 10-15 years!

A brand new TOP 10 LIST to go along with a Christmas edition "Sports Buzz" courtesy of the Coach!
What's more exciting than only being a week away from Christmas Eve & Christmas???? How about the marquee NFL matchup tomorrow night featuring the always dangerous (2-12) Tennessee Titans visiting the ferocious (2-12) Jacksonville Jaguars!!! Okay... who am I kidding? Is that not the worst NFL primetime game EVER this deep into the season? I mean, the Titans and Jags each have a winning percentage of .143 so far and it is going to get even lower for whoever loses that game. Speaking of losing that game, can you imagine how terrible that team is going to feel? But on the other hand, perhaps each team will be trying to lose tomorrow night's game in order to get the best possible draft pick in May. And without further ado... here are the Top 10 Reasons To Watch The Titans-Jags Game Thursday Night:
10-8. There really aren't any good reasons to watch this game. Seriously, I've thought long and hard about it and coming up with 10 reasons is nearly impossible. So... you'll have to settle for the 7 reasons to watch tomorrow night.
7. You are a JAGS or TITANS fan and want to cheer for your team to lose in hopes of securing the best possible draft pick.
6. You came in last place in your fantasy league and this is your punishment.
5. You are trying to impress a guy/girl you recently started dating, who is a big JAGS or TITANS fan, with your knowledge of the stats of QBs Charlie Whitehurst and Blake Bortles.
4. You're intrigued by how the announcers will try to make the game relevant for 3.5 hours.
3. You've never been to an NFL game before and you were able to buy a ticket for the game for under $10.00.
2. With Christmas only a week away, you've already watched all of the Christmas movies that they show on television three times.
1. You'd like to see which total is higher by the end of the game.... The points scored between the two teams OR the amount of spectators that are still inside the stadium watching the game.
And check out the newest Humor Haven "Sports Buzz" with a Christmasy How Good / How Bad Are You list: "Sports Buzz"
Enjoy the remainder of your week and always remember... Laugh, it's good for your health!

Another "Sports Buzz" to go along with topics like how miserable the pro-basketball situation is in NYC, a rough couple of home losses for the University of Michigan, and Gronk's "interesting" photo shoot!
Last night the New York Knicks lost to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 109-95. This loss drops the Knicks' record to a dismal (4-20). Nobody thought the season would start out this horribly.... NOBODY! Granted, the Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith last night due to them resting injuries, but then again, the Spurs played without their best 4 players: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard. That's one of the huge differences between these two teams.... the Spurs can be down a few top notch players and they still continue to roll on like a well-oiled championship team whereas the Knicks (whether they have a full staff or not) look like garbage. There have been recent reports of fighting between Knicks' teammates... I'm not mentioning any names (Carmelo Anthony and Tim Hardaway Jr.). Knicks' President Phil Jackson has made the comment that the Knicks have a "losers mentality" and I couldn't agree with him more. It's time for them to all step up and start playing with a little pride and not look like they all have thrown in the towel on the season with it being less than a third of the way over. If this trend continues with the Knicks, can you imagine where this team will be come the month of March... simply scary to think about. And I'd like to take this time to point out that the current state of the Knickerbockers makes the parody rap song shout out, that I made for Carmelo Anthony, even funnier now. Now I'm a Boston Celtics fan so I don't truly care about the Knicks, but I did create this parody rap song "as if" I was a big time Knicks fan and really wanted Melo to come back to the Big Apple. Perhaps Knicks fans may have agreed with my parody rap song last summer, but I'd love to hear what they think about Melo and the state of the Knicks now. Listen for yourself and enjoy!: "Knickerbockers' Title Quest (Ode to Melo)"
Now there is another professional basketball team in NYC that is also off to a horrendous start to the season. Remember last Fall when the Brooklyn Nets were considered to be a real threat in the Eastern Conference and some were predicting they may even make a run to the NBA Finals???? Well boy have the wheels fallen off! The Nets currently find themselves at the (8-12) mark though 20 games. So if you add the current Knicks and Nets records together you would realize that professional basketball in NYC is a solid (12-32).... not really exciting if you ask me. Perhaps St. John's University or even Division III NYU would be worth watching if you need a NYC-based basketball fix this year. Hell, at least the ticket prices would be cheaper and you might have a better chance of seeing a victory! In my opinion, the Knicks are over and done with this year and Phil Jackson is going to have to perform his most brilliant job as a basketball architect in order to turn this team around over the next few years. The Nets on the other hand, I'm not completely giving up hope on a team that still has Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez and the former Celtics/Timberwolves great Kevin Garnett. I believe that this team, in a relatively weak Eastern Conference, can still make the playoffs and maybe even get out of the first round. I highly doubt that is what Kevin Garnett was hoping in his probable final NBA season, but hey, it sure beats missing the playoffs altogether.
Speaking of some pathetic basketball losses, has anyone else noticed that the University of Michigan men's basketball team recently lost two home games to the likes of the (1) New Jersey Institute of Technology and (2) Eastern Michigan? The Wolverines are apparently playing more like gentle kittens than the ravenous beasts that they take their name from. I haven't checked myself, but did Michigan basketball Coach John Beilein get replaced with Michigan football Coach Brady Hoke? I know it's still early in the college basketball season, but really..... the NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY???? Seriously, Michigan couldn't beat them in Michigan's own arena??? Not a good sign... I'll leave it at that. Or maybe I won't! You know what Michigan basketball Coach Beilein needs to give his players - a little tough love. He could take a page out of the book of this intense former college basketball coach.... Check it out!: The Middle School Coach
I don't really know what to say about New England Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski's recent photo shoot for ESPN The Magazine. Gronkowski is an amazing athlete and I love watching him catch passes from Tom Brady. They are one of the most lethal QB-Tight-End duos in league history. There is no other tight-end I'd rather have in the league than Gronkowski. Now with that said, I still could go the rest of my life without ever seeing another photo shoot picture of Gronkowski holding little kittens and even wearing a "cat hat". Who does he think he is, Dr. Seuss? Gronk, please just stick to catching touchdown passes and running defenders over on the football field... you catch my drift, Big Guy? Thanks
Alrighty, it's time for another Humor Haven "Sports Buzz" and here's my quick rapid-fire take on former Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester joining the World Series-starved Chicago Cubs, Johnny Manziel getting his first start for the Cleveland Browns, and the NY Rangers' Kevin Klein losing part of his ear! And always remember... Laugh, it's good for your health. Enjoy!: Humor Haven "Sports Buzz"

After nearly 5 years away from this "Humor Haven" blog, it's time to get back down to business!
So what have I been doing since my last blog post in early April of 2010 you ask?
Well besides just trying to live life and have fun I'll give you the quick version:
For the last 4-5 years I've continued to live in the phenomenal city of Hoboken, New Jersey (I'm serious... It's a delightful place... actually reminds me of a smaller version of Boston which I think is why I love it so much here). In fact, I went ahead and made a music video about Hoboken which highlights all of the great aspects about it and you can check that out right here: "It's Hoboken"
Around the Fall of 2011, I made the decision to really start focusing on producing plenty of my own comedic content for the web. This comedic content includes sketches, parody music videos/songs, mockumentaries, spec commercials and my comedy group even produced a 25-minute sports sketch comedy show spec TV pilot which we've been trying to pitch to several networks and other outlets. So far it hasn't been picked up, but I'm not letting it slow me down! I've continued to keep up the acting/comedy hustle in terms of auditioning and booking roles here and there. Some of the recent principal roles I've booked over the last couple of years include the role of (The Greeter) on this ABC TV Pilot called, "The Gilded Lilys".... unfortunately the pilot didn't get picked up to series, but hey, That's the Business!!!! I also booked a principal role as (Jim Donner) the news reporter in this "Axe Black Chill" commercial in which I also performed my own stunts. Stunts you ask?! That's right, I've been pursuing a career as a stunt performer as well. Some of the recent productions that I've performed stunts on are as follows: "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", NBC's "The Blacklist" and TNT's "Public Morals". You can check out my newly edited Stunt-Acting reel right here: Stunt-Acting Reel
As you can see, the last several years have been quite busy and I've been trying to tackle many fields in the entertainment business. Yet that is still no excuse to NOT continue blogging on this "Humor Haven" site... that won't happen again. My goal is to now try to post at least weekly (if not daily) on this site with all sorts of sports/comedy/pop-culture commentary, video segments and parody music videos/songs!
Check out the first Humor Haven "Sports Buzz": Humor Haven "Sports Buzz"
I hope you'll continue to come back to the "Humor Haven" whenever you get the chance and enjoy the rest of your day! And remember.... Laugh, it's good for your health.
